One of the smartest things I've ever done was to start the long and difficult process of becoming a plumber. Through it, I was able to start a successful plumbing business and hire people of impeccable character to surround myself with. But the smartest thing I've ever done was to fall in love with a girl from Boise and decide that I needed to buckle down and start a career to support a future family. My wife and I started that project in 2000 and have since built a home and a life in the North End. We have a daughter who somehow manages to only get more awesome from one day to the next. It's been very difficult getting to where we are now, but I wouldn't change a thing. This life has been good to me and I'm glad I get to share it with the people that I work with and the customers that I have the opportunity to engage with.

Journeyman Plumber
When Jeff offered me a partnership to come and work with him at Hyde Park Plumbing, becoming a plumber was not something I saw in my future. I already had a job that I loved, but I knew I needed a change. I had known, respected, and love Jeff for over a decade at that point. I knew I couldn't pass up the opportunity to work with him. For any of you who know Jeff, you know what I am talking about when I say he is not your stereotypical plumber. If Plumbing was in my future, It could only be with Jeff. Come to find out, Plumbing was a perfect fit for me. I love problem solving, and as a plumber, that's pretty much what I do all day.

I moved to Boise in 2007 from Bend, Oregon. I never thought I would be a plumber. I had done mostly construction and nonprofit jobs for work, but never consider plumbing because I never liked what I saw. That was until I saw a Hyde Park Plumbing truck show up to my front door with it’s amazing art work. Watching Jeff and Brook (whom I’ve know for years) showed me that plumbing can be different that what I expected - it’s something that really can be a thoughtful job done with care and some fun. When they offered me to come on with them it was an easy yes. Other than working on my apprenticeship and managing Hyde Park Trenchless Solutions, I am a husband to my beautiful wife and a father to our two little girls. We have four pet chickens whose names frequently change depending on my daughter’s favorite characters at the time.

I moved from Colorado to Boise in 2016. It wasn't in my "life plan" to live here but, I'm so glad I came! Everyone has been welcoming and friendly. On my journey, I met Jeff Naumann and Brook Robinson (two really great guys). They saw potential in me and offered me an apprenticeship. I'm currently on that pursuit.
